Skew is a personal project built and run by a single developer, not a company. This page explains what data the app collects and how it's used, in plain language.

What's collected

When you create an account, Skew stores your email address for sign-in. When you add an item to your inventory, Skew stores the photo(s) you take of it, an AI-suggested or user-edited title and description, any part/invoice numbers you enter, and which storage bin(s) you assigned it to. All of this is stored under your account only — other users cannot see or access it.

Where it's stored

Everything is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore for data, Cloud Storage for photos), under the project skew-db. Skew does not use any third-party analytics or advertising services, and does not sell or share your data with anyone.

AI processing

When you photograph an item, that photo is sent server-side to Anthropic's API to generate a suggested title. The photo is used only to generate that suggestion and is not used by Anthropic to train models. This happens through a Cloud Function so your device never talks to Anthropic directly.

Account deletion

There's no self-serve "delete my account" button yet. If you'd like your account and all associated data deleted, contact the developer and it will be removed manually.
